Chinese traditional Auspicious item- Ruyi

Ruyi (meaning as wish) is a kind of mascot. Its shape is streamlined, and its handle is a little bended. It is splendid and with beautiful image. It is normally made with jade, and was found since the Ming dynasty.
In Qing dynasty, when the emperor chose his wives, if he gave the Ruyi to one of his wives, it meant that she would be the queen. Ruyi is always on behalf of valuable things, and it means good fortune and pleasant.
However, Ruyi was originally designed to be a very useful tool to help people scratch their back by their own self. People can scratch the itchy place on their back "As wish" (Ruyi), just like using their own hand, that's how it got it's name.
