The word's largest Palace - Forbidden city

Forbidden city, situated in the middle axle of the Beijing city. It was the royal palace of 24 Emperors during the Ming and Ching dynasty. It consists of 980 buildings and covers 720,000 m2 of area. The construction started from the year 1406 and lasted for 14 years. The Forbidden City was declared a World Heritage Site in 1987, and is the largest collection of preserved ancient wooden structures in the world.
